How to forward Bell calls to an AI receptionist

Bell Mobility turns on call forwarding from your phone's own settings in about 3 minutes and confirms with a free text message. This guide covers the exact menu paths, the legacy star codes many Bell phones still accept, and how to forward only the calls you miss.

An active Bell Mobility line

Bell's official instructions use your phone's call settings rather than dial codes, and Bell texts you when forwarding activates. Details are on Bell's support page.

A number to forward to

Your AskSiya dashboard shows the dedicated local number Siya answers. The 7-day free trial creates one in minutes, no credit card needed.

2 minutes in Settings

No app to install and no account changes. Your business number stays yours, and forwarding switches off from the same menu.

Setup

Forward every call in 5 steps

  1. Get your forwarding number. Sign up at platform.asksiya.com (7-day free trial, no card) and copy the 10-digit Siya number from your dashboard.
  2. Open call forwarding settings. iPhone: Settings, then Phone, then Call Forwarding. Android: Phone app, then the three-dot menu, then Settings, then Calls or Calling accounts, then Call forwarding.
  3. Enter the number and switch it on. Type the 10-digit Siya number as the destination and enable forwarding. On Android choose "Always forward" to send every call.
  4. Wait for Bell's confirmation text. Bell sends a free text message once activation completes. If nothing arrives within a few minutes, repeat the setup or contact Bell.
  5. Make a test call. Ring your business number from a different phone. Siya should answer within about one ring, and the call appears on your AskSiya dashboard with a full transcript.

Conditional forwarding: only when busy or unanswered

The setup most restaurants and front desks actually want: staff answer when they are free, and Siya catches the rush, the second ring and the after-hours calls. On Bell there are two routes:

  • Android settings: the Call forwarding menu lists "Forward when busy", "Forward when unanswered" and "Forward when unreachable". Set each one to the 10-digit Siya number.
  • Legacy star codes: older Bell devices are widely reported to accept *72 + number (all calls), *90 + number (when busy), *92 + number (no answer) and *94 + number (unreachable), cancelled with *73, *91, *93 and *95 respectively.

With busy and no-answer forwarding on, a caller only reaches Siya when nobody picks up - and she answers before Bell voicemail can, so missed callers meet a receptionist instead of a beep.

Codes vary by device and plan on Bell, and Bell's own documentation steers you to the settings menu - confirm with Bell Mobility support before relying on a star code. The iPhone's built-in Call Forwarding toggle is all-calls only, so iPhone users who want conditional forwarding should ask Bell to enable it on the line.

Verify

Test it, and turn it off any time

Test all-call forwarding by calling your business number from another phone: Siya should answer in about one ring. Test conditional forwarding two ways: call while your line is on another call, then call and let it ring out. Every test shows up on your dashboard with a transcript, so you can confirm exactly what callers hear.

To turn it off: return to the same Call Forwarding menu and switch the toggle off (or clear each conditional rule). If you used the legacy codes, dial *73 to cancel all-call forwarding and *91, *93 and *95 for the conditional rules. Bell texts you when deactivation completes, and calls ring your phone as before.

Why bother

Why forward to an AI receptionist

Bell forwards the call; Siya answers it. She picks up 24/7 in about one ring, takes restaurant orders and hotel bookings straight onto your dashboard, speaks 100+ languages, and starts at $19/mo for 60 minutes with a 7-day free trial, no card required. Plans auto-upgrade as your call volume grows, so callers never hit a busy signal. Curious what missed calls cost you now? Run the free missed call revenue calculator.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Bell's official instructions route through your phone's call settings and confirm by free text message, which works on every modern device. Legacy star codes (*72 to activate all-call forwarding, *73 to cancel, *90/*92/*94 for busy, no answer and unreachable) are widely reported to still work on many Bell phones, but codes vary by device and plan - confirm with Bell support.

The iPhone's built-in Call Forwarding toggle only forwards every call. For busy and no-answer forwarding, try the legacy *90 and *92 codes, or ask Bell support to enable conditional forwarding on the line - it takes them a minute.

Call forwarding is included with most current Bell Mobility plans, though some older or pay-per-use arrangements bill forwarded minutes - Bell's own support article covers the pay-per-use cases. Check your plan before leaving forwarding on 24/7.

Two signals: Bell's free confirmation text after activation, and a test call from another phone that Siya answers within about one ring. The test call also lands on your AskSiya dashboard with a full transcript.
